General Motors has announced a Customer Satisfaction Program (N232427750) addressing an issue with the piston oil lubrication valve in certain 2024 model year Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD/3500HD and GMC Sierra 2500HD/3500HD vehicles. Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD/3500HD (2024 Model Year)

These vehicles are equipped with the L5P Diesel Engine, 6.6L, DI, V8, turbo Duramax, Gen 5, Var. 1.


Identifying Involved Vehicles

Dealers can identify involved vehicles by checking the "Investigate Vehicle History" screen in the GM Global Warranty Management system. Vehicles marked as "Open" are part of this program. It is crucial to verify vehicle involvement before proceeding with any inspections or repairs.

Condition

The identified condition involves the piston oil lubrication valve, which may not open at the appropriate pressure. This can affect the engine's performance and longevity if not addressed.

Correction

To correct this issue, dealers are instructed to replace the engine in the affected vehicles. This action is aimed at preventing any potential engine damage and ensuring optimal vehicle performance.
